e-Marginalia readers especially appreciate well
captured and emotionally engaging travel
adventures. Please submit your writing, photography
or art to one of our travel contests!
If selected for publication, your work will be edited
with care, showcased in our attractive, widely read
travel 'zine and enjoyed by travelers all over the world.
And, if your submission turns out to be one of the three
most popular during the period it is featured,
you will be rewarded!

Contests
At the heart of the e-Marginalia 'zine are frequent
travel contests which permit us to encourage excellent
travel storytelling (writing, speaking, photographing,
drawing, etc.) while rewarding our most popular storytellers.
Please click on the contest categories for details specific
to each contest. If your submission is selected as a
contest finalist, it will be edited and/or web optimized
for publication, showcased in our attractive, widely
read travel 'zine and enjoyed by travelers all over
the world. And, if your submission turns out to be one
of the three most popular during the contest period
it is featured, you will be rewarded.

Rates
Although at this time we are unable to compensate
writers, photographers, etc. who are selected for publication,
tracking the popularity of each finalist permits us
to reward the three most popular submissions according
to the schedules listed in the details for each contest.
Featured submissions are tracked for 1-2 months (depending
on contest duration) before being archived. Archived
stories will remain accessible to site visitors, but
tracking will be discontinued upon publication of the
subsequent issue.
Rights, Requests & Requirements
When we publish your work at
e-Margaux.com we prefer
(but do not require) 30-60 day (depending on contest
duration) exclusive rights after publication, and nonexclusive
electronic rights thereafter. All written submissions
must be in English, and it is preferable that they be
previously unpublished and not simultaneously submitted
elsewhere. To increase your chances for publication,
please follow the submission guidelines below.

- Do a spell and fact check, particularly on location/site
names.
- Include full contact information and submission
destination/itinerary.
- Please review our Archive
carefully to see what has been published to avoid
overlapping. This saves us time and you disappointment.

Rewards
e-Margaux.com is a
boutique travel community celebrating and inspiring
alternative travel and travelers. Unlike "deep pocketed"
commercial travel publications who can pay professional
writers (We dream of being able to do that one day too!
Stay tuned...), e-Marginlia's "contest model" allows
us to encourage excellent storytelling while rewarding
our most popular storytellers. There are different reward
