Bio:

Mike Norman is a freelance writer and photographer who calls Oakland, California home. He has been traveling the country and the world since the age of 2, and that continues today. While attending Cornell University, Mike was able to spend a semester living in Washington, D.C., and another six months wandering through Western Europe, occasionally making it back to London in time to take the odd exam for school. Mike has now explored five continents, twenty-five U.S. States, and twenty-three countries, and these include, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa, Switzerland, and Uruguay. When he is not off traveling, Mike stays busy by promoting the 4 R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, & Rot) working for the City of Hayward, California, and by running his own company, CaliforniaGolfingAdventures.com.

[Listen to Author's Audio Introduction]

Valtournenche: An Italian Ski Adventure  If you were to hear the name Valtournenche without previously knowing of its existence, what would they think it was? The latest SUV offering from Volkswagen? A traditional Andorran chicken and ham dish? Although it certainly does not make you think of the Alps the way Zermatt or St. Moritz does, it should..." [Visit this Feature]
