Karen Wolfgang, 20, is a native of Portland, Oregon. She moved to the
east coast to study bioethics at Princeton, and then halfway through her
studies (not in bioethics any longer) decided that she might learn more –
or at least differently – outside of the university setting. Since May of
2003, she has been working, traveling, and writing in Alaska, Chiapas, the
American Midwest and Southwest, Ecuador, Chile, and at home in the Pacific
Northwest, which will help her get through the next few semesters of
formal education. She is interested in the political periphery, in
approaches to social change, and listening to (and telling) stories. She
now plans to graduate from Princeton University with a degree in
anthropology in 2006.
