For the past 33 years, I've been teaching photographic communication as well as pursuing my passion for travel photography. I am director of The Douglis Visual Workshops in Phoenix, Arizona, and have been training organizational photojournalists and photo-editors in visual literacy since 1971. I also offer individual instruction to hobbyists and travel photographers in the basics of digital photography and photo-editing. To receive an information packet describing these tutorial workshops in digital photography, contact me at . I spend much of my time traveling internationally, and enjoy expressing ideas about the places I visit with a camera. Interpretive photography adds a great dimension to travel and produces knowledge that I put back into my teaching. I am delighted to share some of my digital travel photographs with you. If you would like additional details about how I made some of my favorite pictures, I've posted a nine gallery 'cyberbook' entitled "Travel Photojournalism: Communicating with Pictures," featuring over 100 images. |
