With twenty years in sales and marketing, Phil writes business articles
and other corporate communications, but his main love is travelling and
travel writing.
Phil and his wife escaped from Johannesburg in 1996 and headed for the
hills. They bought a one hundred year-old Cape cottage nestled in the mountains
of the Karoo--just two hours' drive from Cape Town.
"We often hit the road, travelling to many out-of-the-way destinations.
On one of our trips we drove 5800 kilometres and didn't hit a single toll
road."
Phil and his wife travel to see as much as they can.
Stories:
Temenos: A Place Apart
-
"Oh, weary traveler, let me guide you through the white-walled grounds and
lush gardens of Temenos, a surprising oasis inspired by Billy Kennedy and
settled in the heart of McGregor village in the Western Cape, South Africa..."

South Africa's Karoo
National Park - "If my wife Moira hadn't been ill and retired
to our chalet on the day we arrived at South Africa’s Karoo National Park,
she, too, would have experienced the most incredible afternoon game viewing.
I admit I felt a little guilty as I laced up my sturdy hikers, gave Moira
a peck on her burning, red cheek and shuffled out of the cool room. But
heck! What was an outdoor junkie like me supposed to do?"
